A Heartfelt Tribute to Margarita Castaneda
Saved By Nature's Seniors Hike for Health Program was inspired by Margarita Castaneda, the beloved grandmother of Richard Tejeda, founder of SBN. Margarita's love, resilience, and grace left an indelible mark on all who knew her. When she passed away on Richard's birthday, January 23rd, 2017, her memory became a guiding light for a program dedicated to bringing joy, health, and community to seniors.
In her honor, the Seniors Hike for Health Program was launched in 2018, with its first outing taking place in the spring of 2019. This program embodies Margarita's spirit, fostering wellness, connection, and a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature.
Your generous support helps us continue this legacy, offering seniors the opportunity to stay active, find companionship, and experience the transformative power of the outdoors. Join us in celebrating Margarita’s legacy by making a donation today or becoming a member. Together, we can keep her memory alive and touch the lives of countless seniors.
